Hurricane Season has commenced. The Hurricanes opened up the season with a dominating 41-0 win over the Boston Panthers. After a long off season, the Canes were anxious to get back on the field for the 2019 season.
The Hurricanes opened up the scoring early in the 2nd Quarter with a 5 yard run by Chris McNally to cap of a 75 yard drive. Then after a Jimmy Nelson Interception, McNally was able to punch in his second Touchdown. Shane Carley converted on both Extra Points to make it a 14-0 Game.
Later in 2nd, McNally capped off his Hat Trick and 3rd Touchdown giving the Hurricanes a 21-0 lead going into halftime.
After some great stops by the defense, the Hurricanes came out in the 3rd quarter like they ending the 2nd. This time it was the speedy Dolan Reid was able to punch in 2 Touchdowns to give the Canes a 34-0 lead going into the 4th.
The Hurricanes Defense was able to shut down the Panthers offense. Marquisse Rhodes and Jordan Otero both had a Sack and Larry Tagger and Jimmy Nelson had an Interception each!
The Hurricanes capped off the scoring with Mike Gillan punching it in from the 1 yard line yard for his first Career Touchdown for a final score of 41-0.
The Hurricanes come home next week, 6/22/19 for their home opener against the undefeated and top ranked Granite State Destroyers out of New Hampshire. Kickoff for this game is 7:00pm at Marshfield High School. We are community partners with the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club.
