Hurricanes Look For More in 2024!

The Marshfield Hurricanes are coming off of their first Championship Season and are looking to retool and defend the title in 2024!  The Hurricanes are the longest running programs on the South Shore going on to our 9th season, we are looking for more local talent to help defend our title!

    Game 7: Hurricanes Improve to 4-2-1

    The Hurricanes were victorious Saturday night against the Randolph Oilers with a 36-18 victory. The Hurricanes Traveled to Randolph and came ready to play. The Defense stepped up huge getting 5 Interceptions while the offense just moved the ball all day.

    The scoring started on an opening drive when Dutchie Arroyo took a sweep off tackle and plunged in for a Touchdown. The Defense was then able to get the ball back with Safety J.V. Hunter picked off the Oilers Quarterback Eli Marrero.

    The ensuing drive, the Hurricanes scored another touchdown to go up 14-0 when Quarterback Eric Hamlin throw a short pass to Marqueem Monroe and Monroe scampered in for a 20 yard TD.

    With just under 2 minutes left in the half, the Hurricanes pinned the Oilers deep. As they were working out of their end zone, Defensive Lineman Pat Zadrozny pressured Marrero into throwing another interception. Hurricanes Taylor Frye was there to get the ball back to the Hurricanes. As time was winding down in the Half. Hamlin hit Monroe again for a 2 yard TD making the score 21-0 going into the half.

    The Oilers got the ball to start the second half, as they were driving down the field, Marrero threw his third interception to Hurricanes Cornerback Jose Santos who then had an amazing return before being tackled at the 24 yard line.

    Just 2 plays after the interception, Running Back Chris McNally spun himself into the touchdown for his first of the day and put the Hurricanes up 29-0.

    The Oilers found a little bit of life as they were marching the ball back down the field on the ensuing drive. Marrero, after being pressured most of the night, was able to roll out of the pocket, set up and threw a deep ball. As the ball started coming down, Taylor Frye jumped up and snagged it out of the air for his second interception of the night.

    The Hurricanes couldn’t capitalize on that turnover and had a penalty plagued drive that forced them to punt. The Oilers started to get something going when Marrero found James Suber in the back of the end zone with 8 minutes left to play and cut the league down to 29-8.

    The Hurricanes answered with a 93 yard drive that had a couple of big plays by Running back Roscoe Dozier with a 24 yard run and Wide Receiver Alex Young with a 40 yard pass before Hamlin hit Wide Receiver Deven Frye for a short 1 yard Touchdown Pass to put the Canes up 36-8.

    With 3 minutes left, the Oilers didn’t give up. They moved the ball downfield and capped off the final score of the game when Eli Marrero scrambled for a 35 yard touchdown.

    With the win, the Hurricanes improve to 4-2-1 and they will face division rival the Granite State Destroyers for the number 2 seed and a chance to host the East Coast Football League Semi Finals game. The Destroyers are coming in at 5-1-1 in what will be the ECFL game of the week. The Destroyers and Hurricanes always have great games as 2 of the longest running programs in their Division.

    Don’t miss the Hurricanes the Saturday night, August 19th as they play the Destroyers at Marshfield High School. Kickoff is at 7pm, come on down and support the Hurricanes as they push for a championship!

    Its Hurricanes Season!

    Are you prepared for the 2022 Marshfield Hurricanes Season? The Marshfield Hurricanes look to regain their championship ways in 2022.

    The Marshfield Hurricanes will have a different look this season. The Hurricanes are Defense will be Coordinated by the new Defensive Coordinator Marty O’Donnell. Coach O’Donnell has many years of coaching and returns to the Defensive Coordinator duties for the Hurricanes. On the Offensive Side the Hurricanes will have Coach Don Rosen becoming the new play caller. Coach Rosen has many years of coaching with championship experience. The Hurricanes are excited to get the 2022 season kicked off on June 11!

    The Hurricanes Defense has always been the bright spot of the team. They will return former All Stars, Pat Zadronzy from Abington, Joe Amaral from Marshfield, Pierre Benson and former League Defensive MVP Brian Owusu from Weymouth. In the Defensive Backfield they will have a new look with the only returning Defensive back and long time Hurricane Joune Fraser from Barnstable leading the pack.

    Offensively the Hurricanes have brought in some new weapons to that side of the ball. They are returning their 2 QBs, Mark Reale and Flacko Releford and they have a third looking to compete for the starting position in Mike Contreras. At Receiver, they will be returning Jason McDonough from Marshfield, Deven Frye from Falmouth, Corey Devlin from Hanover and Evantz Elizma from Sharon. While at running back the Canes return Dashaun Dias and Dmitry Laforest from Hanover while adding Dmitry Revolous to the mix. The Canes will also look for big plays by Pauly Bonfiglio from the slot and in the return game.

    The Hurricanes are extremely excited with all of the new additions to the team this year and they look to get back to their championship ways. The first game of the season is the East Coast Football Leagues Game of the Week as the Hurricanes will host their Rival the Granite State Destroyers. The kickoff will be on June 11 at 7pm at Marshfield High School. Tickets will be general admission $10 for Adults $5 for Senior Citizens and High School Students 13-18 and everyone 12 and under gets in FREE!

    2022 Cornhole Tournament

    The Marshfield Hurricanes Cornhole Tournament is here! Please join us at Lucky Dawg in Pembroke on June 4th at 12pm. Family and friends are welcome! All proceeds will go towards the Hurricanes team expenses and initiatives such as our Hurricanes Holiday and local camps.

    $50 per team – Prizes will be awarded to 1st & 2nd place!

      4th Annual Turkey Bowl

      The Hurricanes will host their 4th Annual Flag Football Turkey Bowl Sunday December 1st at Marshfield Boys and Girls Club starting at 10:00am.

      Teams will be chosen on Sunday Morning before the game starts. It will be a round robin tournament to decide the winner.

        Canes Destroy the Destroyers

        The Marshfield Hurricanes Semi Pro football team improves to 2-0 on the early season with a 10-0 victory over the Granite State Destroyers.

        Flacko Releford punches it in for the Canes first Touchdown

        The Hurricanes got off to a great start as the Defense was able come up with a huge stop on 4th and one, the Hurricanes drove 62 yard and QB Flacko Releford was able to punch it in on a 15 yard Run.

        The Hurricanes defense, lead by Pat Zadrozny played great to get their second shut out of the season. LB Jojo Amaral also had an interception.

        Shane Carley added a field goal on the first drive of the second half to expand the lead to 10-0. The Hurricanes also had a Touchdown called back on a 25 yard run by Randell Mitchell late in the 4th.

        The Hurricanes will now face their rival Mass Phoenix (Leominster) this Saturday night at Marshfield High School, kickoff is at 7:00pm.

        Hurricanes Prepare for the 2019 Season Opener

        The Hurricanes will face the Mystic Valley Tigers to open the 2019 season on June 8th.

        The Hurricanes are coming off of a disappointing championship game loss and look to retool for a 2019 championship run. It all starts on June 8th at Hormel Stadium.

        With some familiar faces coming back joining forces with some new player, the expectations haven’t been greater for the young Hurricanes team.

        Last year the Hurricanes finished the season 8-2 and came up short in the E.C.F.L. championship game for the second time in 2 years.

        Chris McNally: 5 Questions Fan Friday

        The Hurricanes first 5 Question Fan Friday is the Hurricanes MVP Chris McNally. McNally had a record breaking season behind a dominant line in 2018. He rushed for over 1,000 yards and had 11 total touchdowns. He also holds the league record for longest play in ECFL history with a 97 yard Touchdown run.

          Hurricanes Running Back Chris McNally

          The First Hurricanes Fan Friday will be with the Hurricanes 2018 Most Valuable Player Chris McNally.

          The 5 Question Fan Friday is where fans get to ask one Hurricane player a question. This is your chance to get to know your favorite players. Only 5 questions will be chosen and the answers will be revealed the Friday after. Here is your chance to ask the Hurricanes MVP a question!

          McNally rushed for 1,020 yards last season and scored 11 touchdowns. He wasn’t just great as a running back, he also had a kick return touchdown and a punt return touchdown.

          McNally, a Bourne graduate played his college football with Mount Ida where he helped them win a championship.
