Hurricanes Roll in Awards at ECFL Banquet

The Hurricanes were recipients of 6 awards at the ECFL Banquet. The team won awards for Community Service for its work off the field, Organization of the Year, League MVP (Eric Hamlin), Special Teams PoTY (Tyler Hersey), Offensive Lineman OTY (Justin Reis), & Offensive PoTY (Marquem Monroe). Team Owner & Head Coach John Fossetti told ECFL reps ” I’m extremely proud of the work this team did on and off the field. We were the #1 ranked offense all year, #3 ranked defense down the stretch, and we’re able to host our 3rd Annual Football Clinic with the Marshfield Boys & Girls Club where we’ve hosted over 500 kids in 3 years! I couldn’t be more excited for next year.”

Hurricanes Win Championship!!

The Hurricanes took home their first ever champioship with their win in the East Conference. The Canes faced the Mill City Eagles in Lawrence, Mass and won in convincing fashion with a 50-21 final score in this rematch. Canes QB and Captain Eric Hamlin threw multiple touchdown passes to WR Alex Young. The high powered offense could not be stopped as RB Chris McNally, WR Marquem Monroe, WR, Dutchie Arroyo and WR Deven Frye all reached the endzone as well.

The defense was not to be outdone as they faced an Eagles high powered offense that fell short of all their season averages in this game. There was a big interception by Canes LB Terrance Gomes which turned the tides early. The Canes were the recipient of multiple turnovers and made the most of their opportunities.   Head Coach John Fossetti said on the team win for their first championship “I’m so proud of this team and how they came together. I wouldn’t have wanted to win this with anyone else.”
